Fatal fulminant hepatitis in a patient taking abiraterone acetate: a case report

چکیده
Abiraterone acetate is a steroidal inhibitor of cytochrome P450 17A1 indicated in the treatment metastatic prostate cancer. This report examines case 66-year-old patient diagnosed with adenocarcinoma that had metastasized to bones and lymph nodes. Treatment abiraterone corticosteroid co-administration as well LH-RH analog hormone therapy was initiated. Four half months later, consulted for deterioration general condition. Biologically, he developed fulminant hepatitis which eventually died. An infectious or metabolic origin ruled out. Oncological cause by either disease progression second neoplastic process eliminated means imaging. Hepatic toxicity imputed acetate. suggests on may be underestimated, underscores importance regular monitoring liver tests this therapy.
